TEACHING
FOR ALL AGES
OU Harp studio with donor Carolyn Zachritz, fall 2021
I’m grateful to have had some amazing harp teachers (Ellen Ritscher, Susan Pejovich, Lucile Lawrence and Alice Chalifoux) who made a very profound and unforgettable “stamp” on my life. Their complete patience, persistence, and utmost discipline helped me to grow as a musician and person in many ways. I strive to give back to my students what they gave to me.
My background is teaching the Salzedo method and put a strong emphasis on technique, learning the basics and standards in the repertoire. At the University of Oklahoma, harp majors are given two private lessons weekly, where students can be given guidance on solo and ensemble music. Harp ensemble, Pedagogy and Orchestral literature are also part of the curriculum. Music minors or students with different majors who are interested in lessons or being part of harp ensemble are also welcome.
Private studio: Accepting students at all levels starting from age 6 to 80. Learning the harp can be challenging, so a background in piano is helpful for reading music and developing independent hand coordination. Feel free to contact me with questions about learning this beautiful instrument, or advice about buying or renting a pedal or lever harp.
Rate: $60/hour
*Available to teach both lever and pedal harp*
"Ms. LeBlanc’s guidance has set a strong foundation throughout my career. She fosters great rhythmic and technical integrity in all her students, but most importantly instills in us a true passion for music and the arts. She has the utmost dedication to the success of her students and I am beyond grateful to have her as a mentor and role model."

TESTIMONIALS
"Gaye LeBlanc is an incredible teacher and mentor. Her attention to musical detail and personal care of her students both as musicians and individuals are so rare and invaluable. Miss LeBlanc is always encouraging and cheering on her students without any thought of herself. Truly she is a stellar contributor to the world of not just harp, but of the highest levels of music in Oklahoma and across the US."
- Dr. Heidi Hernandez, Harp Royale
"I am grateful to study with Ms. Gaye LeBlanc, who has taught me not only to become a better player, but a better person. She approaches the harp with extensive knowledge and experience that is inspiring. Ms. LeBlanc has taught me that playing the harp starts with your head, is extremely humbling, and you will never stop learning. She instills a calm confidence with caring support for her students but also pushes you to be your best and to truly go for it! I cherish my time with Ms. LeBlanc and am forever appreciative to have the opportunity to study and play alongside her. "
